LAMERTON went out of the cup after a terrific battle against a strong Horrabridge side.

The visitors started the stronger and had the balance of play for the first 20 minutes but Lamerton were quick on the break and created chances to go in front.

Paul Breyley, Zak Beesley and Paul Cowling all came close before Charlie Blair opened the scoring for Horrabridge.

The second half saw Lamerton equalise when Dan Healy turned in a Graham Cole cross and the match was very much in the balance.

But Blair got his second and the decisive goal.

Despite Lamerton coming close again through Healy, Beesley and Simon Breyley the visitors earned a deserved victory to progress into the next round.

Despite the defeat the home side produced an excellent performance that should stand them in good stead for important games in the next few weeks. Paul Breyley was excellent in midfield and Zak Beesley fought hard up front without much luck.

This Saturday away in the divisional cup to Tregony. Kick-off 2pm.
