Father Christmas dropped in to Okehampton’s Charter Hall on a recent Saturday (December 4) to join families for a festive breakfast.
Children and parents were treated to a full fry-up, courtesy of the Okehampton Lions, the Round Table and Okey Cokey, while Santa sat in pride of place in his grotto on the Charter Hall’s stage, receiving a very long list of Christmas present requests.
Chrissie Read, member of Okehampton Primary Parents, Teachers and Friends Association (PTFA) which organised the event, said: ’Breakfast with Santa was amazing, very well attended.
’A huge thank you to the Round Table that donated food items for the breakfast and delivered Santa to the event in the sleigh and Okehampton Lions for cooking. Okey Cokey also donated the bacon and a raffle prize.’
There were smiles all round as children were given a Santa hat, selection box and book as a memento of the event, and a chance to sit next to Father Christmas.
With help from the elves, snowmen, reindeer and a whole cast of other Christmas characters, Santa definitely made it a day to remember for parents and children alike, and on top of spreading Christmas joy, raised approximately £700 for the PTFA .
