INTREPID escape teams are being invited to put themselves forward for a record-breaking charity event at Princetown Prison this spring.

The 18th Dartmoor Jailbreak takes place on April 21 and the organisers are hoping to beat the £75,000 total raised by last year's event.

Teams of two or more people are challenged to escape from the prison and go 'on the run' in disguise for 12, 24, 36 or 48 hours — but without paying for any transport. Money raised by the teams goes to help children with cerebral palsy at Vranch House School in Exeter — 50 per cent may be given to another charity of the team's choice.

Sue Gould of Vranch House said: 'We need as many teams as possible to enter and are more than happy for teams to split their funds raised 50/50 with other charities.'
