DAREDEVILS will descend from Meldon Viaduct for the Dartmoor Drop in September, and organisers CLIC Sargent are looking for brave volunteers to take part. The Dartmoor Drop will see 80 brave souls descend a nail-biting 100 feet from the Meldon Viaduct individually or in teams on September 6 and 7. Georgina Reed at CLIC Sargent said: 'Taking part in the Dartmoor Drop is a great way to challenge yourself and help make a difference to the lives of children and young people with cancer at the same time. I would encourage people to sign up as soon as possible, as places are limited.' The abseil is open to anyone aged 16 or over and people can take part individually or in teams of four. Each participant is required to pay a registration fee of £15 and raise a minimum of £150 sponsorship. All proceeds will help CLIC Sargent provide vital services, including nurses and care professionals in Devon and Cornwall, grants to help families meet extra costs and free 'Home from Home' accommodation close to the main children's cancer centres.
