A COURAGEOUS cat has been presented with a bravery award from Okehampton Veterinary Centre.

Charlie, a four-year-old ginger tabby, is the latest recipient of the centre's Braveheart award. He was rushed to the vet after being hit by a car. His right hind leg was unstable and an x-ray confirmed he had a total disruption of the hock ligaments.

There were no other options except amputation, and the operation was carried out as quickly as possible. He made an amazing recovery and was collected by his owners the next day.
