SCHOOL House, the oldest boarding house at Kelly College in Tavistock, was last week officially re-opened following its refurbishment by Cllr Harry Smith, the town mayor.
Cllr Smith joined the parents and pupils of School House for a celebratory tea for the start of the Michaelmas Term.
School House, always a boys' house before now, has been closed for a year while extensive rebuilding and renovation has taken place.
It has been re-opened as a girls' boarding house and the staff at the school say the girls are delighted with their new home.
With light spacious rooms and spectacular views across the valley to Dartmoor there is everything in place for the girls to have a fantastic boarding experience at Kelly College.
Headmaster, Dr Graham Hawley said: 'I'm delighted with the refurbishment of School House, it has been a very ambitious project and the skill of our in-house team has shone through.
'I know that the girls who live here are going to find it a wonderfully warm and homely environment as they are cared for by their excellent house mistress Mrs Sarah Baldock, her own family and the dedicated team of tutors.'
