Tavistock hockey A 4

Plymouth Marjon D 0

TAVISTOCK faced the toughest game of the season so far against the improving Marjon side.

The visitors looked a threatening side and put Tavistock under a lot of pressure from the start.

Tavistock worked their way into the game and started to play with a growing confidence and playing a good passing game gave them more possession and time to be creative.

The game was an end to end affair with both sides having opportunities, but the home side looked more threatening going forward and the more agile keeper of Bradley set an imposing figure and pulled off some superb saves.

The first goal came from a short corner following a few blocked attempts, but Kelly found the finishing touch.

With just the one goal in it at half time Tavistock knew it was going to be a pressured start to the half, but weathering the initial onslaught with a well marshalled back line,  Tavistock applied their own pressure with speed and precision.

Great work across the midfield allowed the forwards of Holland and Kelly to run at pace and linking well with the skilful Doney, Tavistock were again netting the ball with a superb strike by Kelly.

Aveyard found the net with a precise short corner flick following a good lay off by the speedy Lethbridge.

Marjon could not contain the attacking frenzy coming at them and Doney made the scoreline safe with a superb strike into the top of the net.

This really does help Tavistock's top table positioning.
