OKEHAMPTON Primary School has again made its mark after the boys' table tennis team took part in the South West Butterfly National Team Championships in Sussex last weekend.
The under 11s boys' team came fourth in the championships, which involved the top 16 schools in the UK.
Headteacher Brian Cunningham said: 'They did exceptionally well and we are very proud and pleased for them.
'It was a great experience for the boys as it was their first opportunity to play at a national level.
'It was a very demanding time for them, and a full weekend. They travelled for five and a half hours on the coach with their parents and I think they did so well.
'It's all a very positive outcome from our partnership with Okehampton Table Tennis Club and we hope the team can continue to enjoy themselves and have fun.'
The under 11 boys' team yesterday competed in the Devon Schools Individual Championships in Plymouth. They hope to move on to the South West Individual Championships at a later date.
