MID Devon Pony Club Tetrathletes continued their winning ways at the Spooners and West Dartmoor PC?s summer tetrathlon last weekend.
This time the boys were in top form with William Leech winning the junior novice triathlon class, with a personal best shoot and swim. William was still only second after the first two phases but a determined run around the wet and hilly Mount House course pulled him up into first place.
In the mini boys? tri class, Christopher Courtier left his past shooting form way behind him to score 900 points and have the best shoot in his class.
He then produced a PB swim and a good run to finish the class in third place individually. In the same class, Hugh Bayley was also in good form with the gun, shooting a PB, following it up with a PB swim. He then put in a brilliant run to finish in fourth place, just behind Chris.
The mini girls? tri team of Lottie Trerise, Harriet Bayley and Martha Bright were also in top form, winning the class, with Lottie coming second with best shoot; Harriet finishing fourth with a PB shoot and Martha, who was among the youngest in a class of 39, coming eighth , also with a PB shoot.
Jessica Jeffery, who was competing as an individual, improved her swim PB by an amazing nine metres.
Sadly, the riding phase clashed with the local hunt show, so we only had two riders, but they both did brilliantly - Lottie rode a clear round to keep her second place and Jessica put in another good round on her pony, Sam.
