WITH the cycling time trial season in full swing it has been a busy few weeks for members of the Okehampton Cycle Club. Last Thursday week saw the continuation of the Okehampton CC summer time trial series on the ten mile course tracing the old A30 road from Bridestowe to Lewdown and back. With a dry evening, a field of five cyclists from Okehampton and Tavistock turned up to put their fitness to the test against the clock. Andy Bowyer was fastest on the night with a time of 27.03, followed by Mike Cory on 27.37. Full results: A Bowyer 27.03; M Cory 27.37; M Deacon 30.02; C Molyneux 30.58; M Chave 33.12. Last Thursday saw blustery conditions but the result was a repeat of the previous week with the in form Andy Bowyer again clocking the fastest time with 27.36 with Mike Cory coming second on 28.02. There was a good turnout of ten riders, boosted by three riders from Tavistock trying this course for the first time. Full results: A Bowyer 27.36; M Cory 28.02; T Bridgman 28.38; G Sprague 28.54; J Rice 29.30; M Chave 30.38; B Dobson 31.24; R Windermer 33.24; N Dean Simmons 36.11; S Bridgman 38.58.
