Ashmoor 2

Okehampton 4

IN usual fashion this hockey season the game started fast and furiously and it was Okehampton who looked likely to score.

An even contest was turned in the away sides favour when Mark Parsons hammered the ball into the goal from the tightest of angles.

Josh Speak then hit the post after a shot was well saved by the home goalkeeper.

The second in the league hosts were making a game of it without really threatening the visitors goal and it was only a matter of time before Okehampton hit their second, when Simon Bourne scored at the far post. Ashmoor rallied and earned a short corner seconds before half time to pull one back.

The second half continued in the same fashion with Ashmoor showing little up front but keeping possession well. Another short corner routine saw the home side equalise. Ashmoor pressed for a winner but left space at the back and Oke took advantage when Parsons found Luke Miller whose shot was tapped in by Bourne.

Bourne got his hat-trick when he and Miller combined again to break Ashmoor hearts.
