Duchy Premier St Minver 2 Gunnislake 3 AFTER losing their ?nine match unbeaten? run last time out, Gunnislake showed great bouncebackability to return to winning ways. At the start only goal difference separated these two middle table sides, with the hosts having played one match more than their visitors. Gunnislake played up the slope into the wind in the first half and it was Saints who territorially had the better of things. However, visiting keeper Andy Brenton was only required to make one telling save in the opening 45 minutes. Gunnislake created the better openings with Steve Cribb, in particular, causing problems. But the turnaround was reached goalless. Central defender Ken Ord, went forward for a corner on the hour mark and was unlucky not to score as his header rebounded off the cross bar. The match sparked into life on 6 minutes. A swift Saints attack saw Mark Warwick turn a cross into his own net as he slid in ahead of two attackers in an attempt to cut out a low driven cross. Within a minute Andy Wakem had levelled matters when he fired home from eight yards. A Dave Yorath corner was spilled into his own net by the Saints keeper. Wakem ran on to a through pass to finish well from a right angle before Saints scored a late consolation penalty. Cornwall Junior Cup Gunnislake 1 Edgecumbe 4 STUART Wakenshaw returned for his first game since September, when he sustained a broken arm. But Gunnislake were without the services of keeper Andy Brenton who broke a finger against St Minver. Defender Mark Southcott took on the goal keeping duties. Lower division Edgecumbe played well throughout this match and thoroughly deserved their victory as their hosts had an off day. A free kick was sent into the Gunnislake penalty area in the opening minute and an Edgecumbe forward beat his marker to head home. A Gunnislake defender then slipped on the wet pitch enabling the visitors to break forward and double their lead in only the third minute. Edgecumbe added a third before the interval and their fourth came soon after the break. Gunnislake tried throughout to get back into the match but missed what few chances they did create before Darren Sambells struck on 75 minutes.
