PLAYING at Lydford, Werrington won the toss and batted first. Rob Squire 2 for 46 and Brenden Worth 4 for 16 soon had Werrington in trouble at 6 for 3. 5 good catches and tight bowling from Mark Gibbs restricted Werrington to 108 all out. In response Richard Hayden 34 no and Worth 49 retired, with help from Gibbs saw Lewdown home for the loss of two wickets. Lewdown 20 points beat Werrington by 8 wickets. In a reduced over game, due to poor weather, Lewdown scored 216 for 2 wickets in their 32 over against Tavistock. All batsmen contributing with Ant Weekes 52, Olly Brown 29, Jake Murphy 46 no and Rob Squire 40 no. Tavistock struggled against disciplined bowling, ending their innings on 86 for the loss of 6 wickets. Andy Vernon and Murphy both taking two wickets. Lewdown 18 points won by 130 runs. On a glorious afternoon at Brentor, Launceston entertained Lewdown. Having won the toss Launceston elected to bat and amassed 207 runs in their 40 overs. Jake Murphy and Brenden Worth with two wickets apiece. The young Lewdown team fielded well in the hot conditions, with 12 year old Will Hodgetts taking his first senior wicket. In all, 9 Lewdown players enjoyed a bowl. Ant Weekes and Brenden Worth put on 164 for the first wicket, and Jake Murphy picked up when Weekes was out for 56, adding 37 n.o.
