A wide cross-section of the West Devon community is being asked to give their opinion on the borough council?s performance by completing a survey that was recently sent out. The council has sent out 2,500 questionnaires to individual householders to ask how they feel it operates. The council would also welcome views on what West Devon residents feel is most important to them personally so that the borough prospers in the future. The in-depth survey allows people to comment on a wide variety of issues ranging from crime and anti-social behaviour to recreational facilities, housing, and waste collection. The council would also like to hear about areas where the community feels the borough performs well, and areas in which they feel can be improved. By highlighting both positives and negatives, the council can concentrate its resources to bring about improvements in future. Cllr James McInnes, leader of the council, said: ?This is an ideal opportunity for the residents of West Devon to make their views known about the way the council provides services to its communities and to state what they feel is good and bad about the borough. ?I hope residents that have received surveys will spare some time to complete them. By doing so they help inform the council about where it should concentrate resources and deliver services.? The deadline for completion and return of the surveys is Friday December 21 and is being undertaken by Teignbridge District Council on behalf of West Devon Borough Council to reduce costs. If residents have any questions about this survey they can contact Colin Slocombe on 01626 215 893.
