THE Dartmoor Border weekend of dance was a resounding success.

Beautiful weather contributed to two coach-touring sides having a great time and treating their audiences to some fine examples of traditional dance.

Raddon Hill Clog, Winkleigh Morris, Grimspound Border, Plymouth Morris Men, Plymouth Maids and Heather and Gorse joined Dartmoor Border at four different locations on the Saturday.

The crowds turned up at the various venues ? Red Lion Yard, Okehampton; Bedford Square, Tavistock; Princetown and Buckland Abbey to enjoy the colourful spectacle.

Following the busy Saturday itinary the sides relaxed in the evening with a great ceilidh.

The weekend finished on Sunday with a mass stand at Castle Drogo featuring all the Morris sides.

Nick Lambert, the Raddon Hill Squire, was so overcome with the organisation of the weekend that he immediately invited Dartmoor Border and and all the other sides to Raddon Hill?s planned weekend of dance in 2005.
