A NEW education programme at Dartmoor-based MED Theatre has been made possible thanks to an investment from Futurebuilders England. The investment, comprising a loan and grant, has helped to fund the new post of education officer at MED Theatre. Carly Mays said:'Developing a programme of work with schools and younger members will allow us to share the experience of living in the heart of a national park and producing plays, films, music and dance inspired by that environment. 'This new era of offering a menu of projects to schools will also enable us to work more closely with young people whilst building a more sustainable future for MED Theatre.' Richard Gutch of Futurebuilders England, said: 'We are delighted to be supporting MED Theatre. MED has shown us how a unique approach to education can benefit young people living in remote, rural communities by providing them with access to arts and leisure.' Mark Beeson of MED said the education programme was a natural development for the theatre.
