JOB hunters in Tavistock are getting extra help in finding employment next week, as a special 'work club' event is being held at the town's library.

The free event, which takes place on Tuesday October 18 from 10am – 4pm, offers help with improving employment opportunities through training, volunteering, and reconsidering career goals, as well as advice on the financial implications of being unemployed.

It is being held in addition to the regular 'work club' sessions, take place every Tuesday afternoon between 2pm and 4pm. These weekly meetings, which are run by Devon County Council in partnership with The Rotary Club of Tavistock, Job Centre Plus, and Tavistock Town Council.

Participants will be offered advice on CV writing, interview techniques and assistance with online applications forms, as well as providing computer access in order to search for vacancies, complete online tutorials and to learn basic IT skills.
