THE history of the village of Black Torrington is chronicled in a new book which has just been published.
Gerry Matthews, author of Black Torrington: The Second Millennium, 1001-2000 will be at J C Books in the Arcade, Okehampton this Saturday between 10am-noon to sign copies of the book.
Mr Matthews is a former parson of Black Torrington, having lived in the village for the last 25 years.
He has gathered together many fascinating picture postcards and photographs of village life and studied a wide range of documents and records to produce a comprehensive account of the history of Black Torrington.
