SECONDARY schools are being encouraged to book a place for the 2015 Waste Summit to be held in Exeter next March.
The summit is a free event aimed at Devon's secondary schools, which explores waste and the wider implications for the environment and society.
The event, which next year will be in its 12th year, is part of Devon County Council's waste education programme, which aims to increase student's awareness of the impacts of wasting resources. This year, around 90 students from seven secondary schools in the county took part.
Councillor Roger Croad, Devon County Council cabinet member for environment and communities, said: 'The Waste Summit is always well-supported and gets a positive response from everyone who takes part. The event provides a thought provoking look at issues that affect their environment while encouraging them to reduce, reuse and recycle their rubbish.'
Among the feedback from this year's event, one teacher said: 'It was a truly great day and the kids are still talking about it!'
