Yelverton Bohemians Cricket Club recently held their annual awards evening at the Leg?O?Mutton Inn, Yelverton. The 2007 season has been one of the club?s most sucessful in its history, with the first XI winning both promotion from the Devon Cricket League E Division West and also winning the E Division West Plate competition. The midweek Evening League team also won promotion in the P&D League at the first attempt and were also runners-up in the League Plate competition. Yelverton?s U11 and U15 Colts team also narrowly missed out on some silverware as they both reached the semi-finals in their respective cup competitions. The presentation evening was well supported with more than 50 members and partners. The first XI player of the year award went to Paul Farnham who averaged more than 100 with the bat during the season. The second XI player of the year award went to Chris Pearson and the third XI award to Terry Roe. The junior player for the 2007 season went to 15 year old Rob Bennett who played all season in the 1st XI making significant contributions with both bat and ball while the junior clubman of the year award, sponsored and presented by Howard Boulter of the Leg?O?Mutton Inn, went to U18 player Iain Cunningham. A special award was made to ground secretary John Cowsill for all his hard work throughout the summer to ensure the ground always looked at its best, and despite the damp summer only a handful of games were lost to the weather. The awards were presented by club chairman Kevin Vince and first XI captain Rob Guy. The club continues to develop both on and off the field and would like to thank all its sponsors for their continued support and assistance. Recent projects completed include new artificial practice nets and the purchase of a new practice bowling machine.###
