PASTY-powered endurance runner Bob Brown, 36, from Callington, Cornwall, today made it into Poland, in his attempt to set a record for running 3000 miles across the European Community. After 40 days running, Bob has less than 750 miles to go in his record quest, which has seen him average close to 55 miles each day. At his present rate of progress, he is on schedule to finish in a staggering 55 days. So far he has run across Portugal, Spain, France, Belgium and now Germany. He just has to run through Poland, Latvia and Lithuania to get to that elusive finish at the Russian border. The Ginsters sponsored athlete has had to counter shocking weight loss and massive physical suffering but is still confident of completing the final stretch, undoubtly the hardest part.
