THERE will be a celebration of bluebells at Meldon Woods this Sunday, May 21, with free train tickets. The event is being organised by English Nature and Dartmoor Railway. The railway will issue free return ?Bluebell? tickets for the 12.20pm train from Okehampton Station to Meldon, with the option of returning on any of the afternoon trains. In addition, English Nature will refund the fares of anyone arriving at Okehampton Station by bus. Visitors are invited to meet at Meldon Station visitor centre at 1.30pm. Becky Newell from Dartmoor National Park Authority will be there to record childhood memories of bluebells and Okehampton woods, and there will be the chance to recall local names for bluebells and other spring flowers and games played in bluebell woods.
