Feniton 2

South Zeal 2

ZEAL should have had the match wrapped up before half-time but instead started the second half with ten men and a goal down, having also lost keeper Cleave Collins with an injury which turned out to be a broken jaw.

Feniton's first half goal came after Collins had to leave the pitch, He was replaced in goal by Dave Wooldridge. From a corner on the left and a scramble in the Zeal penalty area Leon Ware handled the ball on the line, Feniton scored from the penalty and Ware was sent off.

Though Zeal dominated the first half they started the second with more purpose and following sustained pressure equalised after a through-ball from Pillivant found Pengelly - he scored with a great finish into the top left hand corner of the net.

It was now all Zeal and it was no surprise when they went ahead with 20 minutes left. A corner taken by Smith was headed goalwards by Wonnacott. The header was saved on the line but from the resulting scramble Wonnacott slid the ball over the line.

Harley Cann had a great game and was unlucky several times not to increase Zeal's lead. However, with three minutes left a high ball was hit at the Zeal goal. Wooldridge got a hand on the ball but could not stop it crossing the line.

This week home to Axmouth, kick-off 2.30pm.
