THERE will be a chance this weekend to see the new ambulance which St John volunteers in Okehampton have bought following years of fundraising. After identifying the need for a new ambulance three years ago, the organisation set a target of £40,000 and this was surpassed earlier this year with the backing of generous local supporters and a grant from the Okehampton United Charity. A short service is taking place this weekend to mark the dedication and blessing of the new ambulance. The service will be conducted by the Rev Philip Wagstaff at Fairplace Church at 11am on Saturday, September 30. Everyone is welcome to the service, or just to come along and see the new vehicle.
