THE rededication of the bell frame at St Michael's Church on Brentor was performed by the Bishop of Exeter last Sunday.

The bells had been silent for more than a year, after it was discovered that the frame was in very bad condition in 2010.

They were taken down and an extensive programme of repair was undertaken, before the bells could be re-hung and finally used once more, when they were run for the first time at the harvest festival service last September.

Brentor Parochial Church Council is indebted to the Friends of St Michael who raised money for the repair project, and the Devon Church Bell Restoration Fund, for a grant of £2,000.

The bells were blessed and rededicated by the bishop during the evensong service, led by the Rev Michael Brierley.
