A CAR fire caused severe damage to a vehicle parked on the edge of Abbeyford Woods, near Okehampton. One fire crew from Okehampton attended the incident and used a hose reel safely to extinguish the blaze. The fire broke out at around 8pm last Thursday. l Two appliances from Okehampton and one from North Tawton responded to an emergency call following a road traffic accident involving two vehicles at Sampford Courtenay. The accident occurred at Beacon Cross, near Sampford Courtenay at around 3pm on Thursday. The three crews made the vehicles safe and cleared spilt fluid from the road surface. No-one was injured in the incident.
