Tavistock 5 Buckland 0 TAVISTOCK moved into third place in the league with this comprehensive win over local rivals Buckland and with a league cup semi-final coming up things are looking bright. Tavistock started brightly in the opening exchanges and forced Buckland?s keeper to make a couple of saves until the 12th minute, when Blatchford cut in from the right to shoot from 14 yards into the bottom left corner. Buckland came more into the game without really threatening Williams in the Tavistock goal, until the 30th minute when he made a fine save. At the break it was only 1-0 to the home side. In the second half Tavistock stepped up their game and soon made it two, the goal again coming from Blatchford who cheerfully lobbed their keeper from only 8 yards. Midway through the half Tavistock wrapped up the game as Blatchford grabbed his hat trick from the penalty spot, to take his season?s tally so far to 38. The fourth was soon to come as Hamilton raced through to blast the keeper from 18 yards. There was still time for Tavistock to score again ? Brockington smashing home from six yards. Buckland still carved out two more chances, but again Williams saved superbly.
