Westinsure Devon Premier Cup second round
Galmpton 0
Tavistock 5
BEING away to a side in the cup from a lower league always has the possibility of an upset but the Lambs had no intention of going out at the first hurdle for the second successive week.
Managers Craig Smith and Chris Abbott changed the side around after last week?s disappointing display against Callington. In came Chris Gott, Graeme Kirkup and Steve Shaw at the expense of John Gosling, Mark Wall and Steve Nicholson.
The Lambs could have wrapped the game up in the first 15 minutes but Lee Doncaster and Gott were guilty of missed chances. They got the breakthrough two minutes later. It looked like an indirect free kick for dangerous play but Nathan Blamey curled his shot over the wall and into the net for the referee to allow it and the Lambs were on their way.
The Lambs got their second on the half-hour when James Cole?s ball over the defence allowed Doncaster to make amends and lob the keeper.
With ten minutes of the first half remaining the Lambs went further ahead when from a corner the ball was not cleared. Darren Babb got his head to it to set up brother Jeff to squeeze the ball inside the post from close range.
The Lambs continued attacking at the start of the second half with Paul Smith?s effort tipped over the bar then Doncaster turned in the area to see the keeper touch his shot onto a post and go for a corner. From it the Lambs
increased their lead when Darren Babb volleyed home Cole?s cross.
Galmpton never gave up but were reduced to long-range efforts that never troubled Andy Meeds and could not get past a Scrooge-like defence.
In the last minute the Lambs put the seal on a comfortable victory as subs Gosling and Abbott beat the offside to close in on goal. Gosling attempting to go around the keeper was fouled by a defender and from the penalty Blamey slotted home.
Team: Andy Meeds, Lee Beer, James Cole, Steve Shaw, Graeme Kirkup, Darren Babb, Nathan Blamey, Paul Smith (sub Mark Wall 75m), Jeff Babb (Chris Abbott 80m), Lee Doncaster (sub John Gosling 65m), Chris Gott.

TAVISTOCK P & D side?s climb up the table continued with this victory over Command.
Richard Searle opened the scoring and the Lambs added a second when the keeper failed to hold onto the ball after being challenged for Dave Symons to slot home.
The keeper had to leave the field for a finger injury and they never recovered after that as Paul Cowing got the third to record a good win.
l Fixture: the Carlsberg squad are back in league action this Saturday when they make the journey to Penryn with a 3pm kick-off. The P & D side are at home to Mount Gould B P in the league with a 2.30pm kick-off.
