THE Friends of Tavistock library last week unveiled a new wheelchair to help disabled borrowers move around the shelves of books.

The chair was purchased by the Friends using money raised through their regular Friday morning ?Tea and Bicky? breaks, held at the library.

Friends spokesman Brian Taylor said special thanks were due to the Phlexicare Division of the Nicholls and Clarke Group, who generously sold the wheelchair at a significantly reduced price.

The official presentation of the wheelchair at the library last Wednesday (July 9) coincided with the second anniversary of the opening of the new building in Tavistock?s Plymouth Road.
