EIGHTY bikers gathered in Princetown on Saturday to present a cheque of more than £15,000 to Macmillan Cancer Support.
On the longest day of the year, back in June, 40 bikers from all over the country took part in a ride from John O'Groats to Land's End to raise money for the charity.
Their aim was to raise £5,000 and to promote the charity's World's Biggest Coffee Morning.
Debra Appel presented the cheque of £15,123 to Macmillan's local fundraising manager Calvin Lovelock at the Plume of Feathers in Princetown.
Debra said: 'Last November my dad died and we were really grateful for the wonderful support we had from Macmillan both before and afterwards.
'It seemed like a good idea to us to raise the money this way, but we have been really amazed by people's generosity and kindness.'
Calvin said: 'People chose many different ways to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support and we are grateful to Debra and her friends and fellow bikers who took part in such a marathon undertaking to help those affected by cancer.'
