VOLUNTEERS with the Operation Sunshine charity are celebrating, after sending their biggest-ever shipment of donations to help impoverished families in Zimbabwe.
The Tavistock group loaded the 3,050 cubic foot container — 320 cu ft bigger than the normal containers used by the charity — with clothes, bicycles, shoes, tools, water containers and foods including 2,204 kilos of rice donated by customers at Morrison's, and the store itself.
Ann Tregarthen, regional organiser for Operation Sunshine, thanks all those whose generosity has made such a substantial shipment possible.
