THERE was a bumper turnout at the Ivybridge 10K on Saturday with 30 Tavistock Athletic Club runners making the short trip over Dartmoor for one of Devon?s favourite road races.
With a limit of 500 this one filled up quickly and entries closed almost two weeks before the event.
The Tavistock contingent enjoyed a pleasant evening in the sunshine with several personal best times and one or two club records falling.
This race was also the fifth of the 14 which feature in the club?s Grand Prix so there were points to be earned as the competition hots up for the prizes on offer at the end of the year.
Richard Drage was first Tavistock runner home, in seventh position. This saw him collect the age category prize of second M45 in the event.
The race also included within it the Devon AA 10K Road Race Championships, so Richard also picked up a silver medal in the equivalent category.
Add to that a new club record in his age group and he went home a very happy man.
Fiona Dunn continued in her sparkling form, breaking yet another club record. Her time of 43m 10s puts her at the top of the ladies? 10K records - the third record this year after excellent results in the Plymouth Hoe 10 and the Bideford Half-Marathon.
