A BIG thank you has been given to staff from the town's two most well-known buildings for their dedicated work.
Members of Tavistock Town Council's properties committee praised staff from the pannier market and town hall for continued efforts in making the town a more attractive place.
After the meeting Cllr Brian Trew said: 'We are fortunate in Tavistock to have a dedicated town council workforce that has remained loyal during very difficult economic times.
'However, most of the people of Tavistock probably do not realise just how much the staff who work in the pannier market and in the town hall have contributed to the town, not just by making it a more attractive place to be and to visit, but also the contribution they make directly to the financial wellbeing of the town council and how this has kept our rates down and our services still running in the way in which they do.
'I feel the town owes the staff a well-deserved vote of thanks — well deserved praise for what is sometimes thankless work.'
