FRIENDS and colleagues of a woman who is retiring after working in the NHS in Okehampton for more than 29 years have held a party in her honour.
Marilyn Poat has been the mainstay of the administration both at the old and new Okehampton Hospitals and her colleagues spoke warmly of her devotion to the local healthcare services over the years.
Mrs Poat received many gifts and she thanked everyone and spoke of her career and how much she had enjoyed it all.
Linda Chudley said how much she would be missed and expressed the most sincere thanks for all her help.
Martin Perry of the Hospital Friends referred to her hard work transferring from the Castle Hospital to the new hospital.
Marilyn added that from her home she could look down on the hospital and would be keeping half an eye open but was sure it's great success would continue for very many years.
