GOLF legend Colin Montgomerie is backing local golfers Chris Tear, Dave Scragg and John Taynton from Horrabridge who are taking part in the Longest Day Challenge 2004 in support of the Macmillan Cancer Relief.
The team will be attempting the ultimate golf marathon at Hurdwick Golf Club, Tavistock on Friday, June 18. They will be raising sponsorship to help Macmillan support people living with cancer by playing a mammouth four rounds in one day.
?Playing 18 holes in one day is enough for most people so to complete 72 we?ll have to cover more than 20 miles and play more than 300 shots in one day.
?It will be tough and extremely tiring but it?s a small price to pay.?
Colin Montgomerie has lent his support to the challenge. ?Money raised by golfers like Chris, Dave and John will make a real difference to help Macmillan support people living with cancer,? he said.
