AN event called ‘The Tamar Valley Fitness Challenge’ organised by Nick Lane of Tavistock and Matt Luxton of Launceston took place in Lifton recently.

Competitors, in teams of three and four, took part in five events ranging from five to nine minutes each, to test their different aspects of fitness, teamwork and tactics.

All members of the eight teams were asked to give a donation and a total of £613 was raised for the Children’s Hospice South West.
