EXETER City Council has announced the first details about the forthcoming Exeter Autumn Festival, which will this year run from November 2 to 14. Now in its fourth year, the festival is a celebration of theatre, dance, visual art, poetry, music, storytelling and comedy in Exeter and the South West. In addition to demonstrating local talent and initiatives, the festival includes performances from nationally and internationally acclaimed artists. No less than seven events, taking place in different locations all over the city, will open this year?s Festival on November 2. These include a concert by the legendary James Taylor Quartet at the Exeter Phoenix and a stand-up comedy performance by Australia?s Brendon Burns at Exeter Corn Exchange as well as a special ceilidh for Amnesty International at St James? Church Hall. Other highlights are a one-off performance by Mercury Prize nominated singer-songwriter Kathryn Williams at Exeter Phoenix on November 4, the inimitable Exeter Festival Chorus? Laudate! at Exeter Cathedral on November 8 and the Moscow Ballet?s Sleeping Beauty at Exeter Corn Exchange on November 19.
