A VOLUNTEER schools co-ordinator is being sought by the British Heart Foundation (BHF) to cover the Tavistock area. Volunteer schools co-ordinators play an essential role in underpinning the BHF?s work locally, by visiting schools to provide educational ?heart health? support and resources. Although no experience is necessary, the ideal person will have good communication skills, be confident and have an interest in improving the health of young people. In return for a commitment of two or three hours per week during term time, they will become a highly valued member of the team, be reimbursed for any out of pocket expenses and have the opportunity to gain experience within a school environment. The BHF is the nation?s heart charity, raising vital funds for pioneering heart research that saves and improve the lives of vulnerable men, women and children living with the burden of heart disease. Anyone requiring further information should contact volunteer manager Owen Penney on 01822 860146.
