I ATTENDED the meeting at the Charter Hall last Thursday called by our mayor, Mrs Christine Marsh, the object of which was to offer an idea to the people of Okehampton for the enhancement of the area known as the East Okement Valley.
The concept which was conceived and presented by Mr Peter Woodgate was very well received by those present.
After a lot of research and hard work by Mr Woodgate the resulting plan was futuristic and ambitious, but without losing the charm and natural beauty of the valley and surrounding area. The meeting gave the people of Okehampton an opportunity to have their say in the development of the environment in which we live.
I personally feel this exciting project deserves the support of all of us who care about the future of our town. It will attract visitors to the park and town which will in turn boost the economy.
With our support the mayor, town councillors and our local West Devon councillors can regain control of the town for all of us who live here.
After all, who better than the people of Okehampton know what is best for our town?
