OvER £800 was raised in efforts to help the Ukraine on Saturday at a coffee morning held in Bere Alston Village Hall.

Bere Peninsula borough councillor Cllr Angela Blackman said: ‘Thank you to everyone who helped or came or donated, your generosity is astonishing and I am so proud of our community coming together.’

Special thanks were extended to running club the Bere Alston Trekkers, who contributed £105 through fundraising efforts and to local resident Jane Poulton who hand-crafted special pin ribbons for the event. Donations are still being received and the parish council hopes to hit the £1,000 mark.
