MORE than 100 people flocked to the Bere Ferrers community orchard to help ward off evil spirits for the annual Bere Ferrers Apple Wassailing Night.
The evening raised £214 for the Devon Air Ambulance, and was enjoyed by all who attended.
Brian Lamb, chairman of the Tamar and Tavy Apple Group, said: 'It was a fantastic evening and everybody enjoyed the cider, pasties and apple juice. Thank you to the entertainers Dartmoor Border Morris and the Tavy Tars, and also thanks to a fantastic team led by Joyce and Richard Teden.'
The wassailing evening is to frighten off evil spirits to ensure a good apple crop for the year.
