Beacon Knights U11s 0
Okehampton Argyle U11s 11
OKEHAMPTON started with three goals in the first seven minutes. Paul Gent opened the scoring and a scramble in the Beacon Knights goalmouth minutes later allowed Andrew Collier to score Okehampton?s second.
Paul Winthorpe, usually found in the Okehampton defence, scored the third. From that moment Okehampton took complete control.
Paul Winthorpe played his part in the fourth goal with a defensive clear into the path of Bradley Ausden who opened his scoresheet. Jacob Ayris played a fantastic accurate pass which Ausden put into the side netting of Beacon Knights? goal.
Jacob Ayris added his name to the scoresheet with a fantastic header into the net after the Beacon Knights keeper had made a save from a shot from Okehampton?s Harry Smith.
Ausden scored again from a long pass up the field followed by Smith who scored to take the Okehampton tally to seven, despite the Beacon Knights defenders scrambling in the goalmouth to keep the ball out.
The second half proved more testing for Okehampton as they played into an ever increasing wind. Their persistence paid off as Ausden chipped the ball over the keeper?s head to make number eight.
Ausden also contributed to the own goal from Beacon Knights as they were trying to clear his shot from the goalmouth only to strike it into the back of their own net.
The match finished with a volley from Andrew Collier into the back of the net.
Man of the match: Andrew Collier.
