AN Okehampton-based Bed and Breakfast has won an award for making an extra effort to put Dartmoor on the map.
Upcott House B&B received the Dartmoor First award for sustainable tourism for efforts including favouring local suppliers, lessening the environmental footprint by careful use of resources, recycling and composting, good stewardship of the environment through enhanced biodiversity, and recognition of the cultural heritage.
The award, which was made of Dartmoor Oak, was presented by chairman of the Dartmoor Partnership, Mark Walker, at the Two Bridges Hotel in Princetown.
Owner of Upcott House B&B Kay Bickley said: 'It was great to have our commitment to Dartmoor both recognised and celebrated.'
