Battling ladies make up for absence of player

THE game started with the teams only fielding 10 players each. Paignton opened up the scoring with a superb goal.

Unfortunately for Tavistock Ladies the 11th player showed up for Paignton. But Tavistock's defence of Rachel Galvin, Julie McGowan, Aileen Ismail and Helen Miller kept Paignton out.

Tavistock picked up and a precise cross went from Donna Burch to Kirsty Jones who netted the first goal for Tavistock.

Constant battling from Jane Sivyer and Helen Lea kept the ball in Paignton's half and Louise Evans managed to tap in the second goal for Tavistock.

Keeper Sarah Blowey kept Paignton out until a quick run and high shot finally went in.

Tavistock were awarded an indirect free kick from the edge of the box and Louise Evans scored.

Kirsty Jones managed to tap in the fourth and after many clashes between Louise Evans and Paignton keeper Lee Hayward, Louise scored her hat-trick. Tavistock are at present top of their division. This Sunday sees them home to Plymouth University.
