THERE was another first for members of Bere Alston Trekkers (BATs) was the Tavistock Town Relay held in the Meadows by Tavistock Athletic Club earlier this month. The course for each leg of the relay was one continuous lap of the Meadows - measuring just over a mile. All BAT?s recorded a personal best for their individual lap, with an average lap time of under 8 minutes. Their overall finishing time was 00:39:49. The relay was a debut for the youngest and newest member of BATs. Ashley Wills, 17, won the fun run in an impressive time of 6 minutes 12 seconds.
