MEMBERS of BATs (Bere Alston Trekkers) started the new year in fine form at the weekend. Five members made the journey to Exeter to take part in the First Chance 10k. This event is hosted by South West Road Runners and is promoted as a personal best event. Although the day was cold the sun shone and BATs flew around this flat, fast route with all achieving a personal best. BATs are now in training for the Bideford half marathon in March. Training will include circuits and long Sunday runs.
