TAVISTOCK took the field with an experimental side. Barnstaple took advantage of errors to camp in the Tavistock 22, but the defence held firm and Stuart Blake led a drive upfield. The ball was laid back and Josh Sutton put in a great line kick.

Tavistock attacked, moving the ball wide but Barnstaple were up quickly in defence.

From a line-out Phil Maloney put in a great drive taken on by Louis Addaway who was held up over the line and Barnstaple were able to clear.

Hamish Pearse-Danker led the next charge, a quick ball released to concede a penalty which Josh Sutton converted.

Barnstaple came storming back and scored a try which was converted.

Tavistock were on the back foot. A great tackle by Mark Ewings saved another try but Barnstaple continued to press and converted two penalties before the half ended.

Tavistock started the second half well. Andrew Barwick led a drive taken on by Darren Sutton. He popped the ball up to Richard Lloyd who dived over in the corner.

Again Tavistock attacked. Peter Welsh won a good ball and a towering kick from Seb Roberts was chased down by Richard Brid to set up a line-out on the Barnstaple line. A great take and drive by Richard Huish was just held up by from the scrum. Seb Roberts carved his way through to score under the posts. Josh Sutton converted.

Barnstaple defended well and set up a break out, but Paul Harwood put in a great covering tackle and the danger was cleared.

Tavistock set up another good position and when Mike Knapman was fouled, Josh Sutton converted the penalty.

Barnstaple managed to get back a try in the last five minutes to tie the match.
