ON October 2 Yelverton Golf Club ladies' section played a medal competition combined with the Murray Rose Bowl competition which is open to all players with a handicap between 21 and 36.

Barbara Perriton won the silver division with a net 73, runner-up was Marie Watson with a net 73 and Trudi Luke was third, also with a net 73.

Lilias Strachan won the bronze division and the Murray Rose Bowl with a net 74, runner-up was Annie Marshall with a net 74 and third was Aine Binchy with a net 77.

On Thursday October 9 the ladies enjoyed a good-natured match between the ladies' captain, Jean James's team playing against the secretary, Mary Geen's team. Jean's team played extremely well, but Mary's team played even better!

Earlier this year Belinda McSherry qualified to play in the final of the Devon County Ladies' Golf Association's Warren Crocus Bowl competition.

The final was held at Dawlish Warren Golf Club on September 30. Belinda played the best game of her life, scoring five shots under her handicap and won the Warren Crocus Bowl.
