TAVISTOCK Parish Church is beginning the new year with a special family service this coming Sunday, in which water will be sprinkled about.
Arranged for the day on which the worldwide church remembers the baptism of Jesus, the service will be a celebration of parishioners' own baptisms.
Consisting of songs, readings and prayers, the service of about half an hour will finish round the font, when the priest-in-charge, the Rev Michael Brierley, will — lightly — splash those attending as a reminder of their baptism. Parishioners will then be welcome to stay for refreshments in the church.
Mr Brierley said, 'This service is a wonderful opportunity to begin the year by realigning ourselves on the track we wish to be on. It will be great fun, and people of all ages are warmly invited.'
The service begins in St Eustachius' Church at 3pm.
