THE foodbank for Callington and district has expanded and now has an outlet in Calstock Parish at Tamar Valley Methodist Church, Albaston.

The objective is a joint venture with the Methodists and Anglicans in the parish. The distribution point will be manned each Thursday from 10.30am to 11.30am.

Food parcels will be brought to the church ready for distribution to those who need them just prior to the opening time.

Volunteers who will be manning the outlet spent a special day at Callington for training.

The timing also ties in with Tamar Valley's Open Door, when the building is open for coffee and anyone wishing for quiet time or prayer. This has been done since the building opened eleven years ago.
